Opening: The Gang’s New Lives

After successfully escaping with billions of euros from the Royal Mint of Spain, the gang members are living luxurious but isolated lives in different parts of the world. The Professor (Sergio Marquina) is traveling with Raquel Murillo, now known as Lisbon.

Tokyo and Rio are on a tropical island, Helsinki is enjoying life with Palermo, and others are living incognito. However, Tokyo grows restless, craving excitement, which leads her to leave Rio temporarily.

Rio’s Capture

Tokyo’s decision to leave has devastating consequences. Rio, still in contact with her, uses an untraceable phone to call her, but the call is intercepted by law enforcement.

Rio is captured by a special military unit led by Alicia Sierra, a ruthless inspector. He is taken to a secret facility where he is tortured for information about the rest of the gang.

When Tokyo learns of Rio’s capture, she reunites with the Professor and demands they act. The Professor devises a plan to free Rio, calling the gang back together for a new heist.

The Plan: Robbing the Bank of Spain

To pressure the government into releasing Rio, the gang plans to rob the Bank of Spain, one of the most secure financial institutions in the country. The target is not just money but the vast reserves of gold kept underwater in a high-tech vault.

The heist also involves stealing state secrets, stored in the form of red boxes, which can be used as leverage against the government.

Palermo, an old friend of Berlin and co-planner of the heist, joins as the leader inside the bank. Flashbacks reveal that Berlin and Palermo had meticulously planned this heist long before the Royal Mint robbery.

Executing the Heist

The gang, now wearing red jumpsuits and Salvador Dalí masks again, infiltrates the Bank of Spain. They take hostages, including government officials, and begin the elaborate process of melting and extracting the gold from the underwater vault.
